TRAVEL & PARKING

We recommend taking public transit if available and convenient from where you live. Parking can sometimes be challenging in Berkeley. If you are driving, we recommend consulting UC Berkeley's 
visitor parking guide for information about parking lots on the Main Campus and their pricing
(typically $2/hour). The map of parking lots is here.

 

For visitors, the closest lot to Berkeley Way West is Lower Hearst Garage, Level 2 (E1 on Campus Parking Map). Lower Hearst Garage has Hourly Pay Parking on Level 2 at all times only in Gold Zone on the east side of Level 2 (enter from Scenic Ave). If that lot is full, try Recreation Sports Facility (RSF) Garage (F3 on Campus Parking Map; Hourly Pay Parking at all times only in Gold Zone on the east side of garage) or Lower Sproul Garage (E3 on Campus Parking Map; Hourly Pay Parking at all times.)

 

If you have a faculty/staff parking permit from another UC campus, it will be honored at UC Berkeley as noted on this page. Follow the instructions on that page to request access to F lots. You must use the F Lots if you would like to use your faculty/staff parking permit from another campus. Consult this map to find an F lot (F parking is available in Lower Hearst Garage, which is the closest to Berkeley Way West).
